Happy Chinese New Year! We held a parent-child Chinese New Year Celebration workshop and had a wonderful time with our parents.
Together, we made a traditional snack: glutinous dough with red dates. Snacks enjoyed during the Chinese New Year often carry meaningful blessings, and this particular snack symbolises that happiness is always with us!
After our cooking activities, we created rolling lanterns! Each of us designed our patterns and graphics. Have a look at our creations! We even learned that children in the historic Chinese Qing Dynasty painting “Activities of Peace and Joy” are playing with similar rolling lanterns. Playing with lanterns is a cherished cultural tradition during the Chinese New Year. The light of the lanterns represents hope for the future, and we wish everyone a bright year of the Snake.
Thank you to all the parents who joined our workshop. We look forward to hosting another festive event soon!
